Kissimmee Sculpture Experience

Heart of Steel will be on display in Kissimmee from the end of 2014 through mid 2015.

From their page: “The Kissimmee Sculpture Experience is brought to you by Kissimmee Main Street. Kissimmee Main Street is a nationally accredited Main Street program that focuses on historic preservation with economic development to restore prosperity and vitality to downtown and neighborhood business districts. Mission: Preserve and enhance Historic Downtown Kissimmee for the enrichment of present and future generations.

BACKGROUND

The Kissimmee Sculpture Experience was created in 2006 by Phyllis Ross and is an annual exhibit of outdoor sculptures placed around Downtown Kissimmee.
Goal: Enhance Downtown Kissimmee while advancing Kissimmee’s place as an art and cultural community. Allow Kissimmee Main Street to blend the historic, cultural and artistic aspects in the community.”

Deland Sculpture Walk

Louie, the alligator, can be found in DeLand, Fl through 2015 as part of the DeLand Sculpture Walk.

From DeLand Sculpture Walk: ”The DeLand Sculpture Walk is a collaborative effort with The City of DeLand and the Museum of Art – DeLand, Florida offering established and emerging artists the opportunity to display their sculptures throughout the heart of beautiful downtown DeLand, Florida.The artwork changes biennially, revealing a variety of artistic styles through the use of concrete, aluminum, stainless steel, PVC, bronze, copper and other materials.

When visiting the sculptures, smart phones can be used to scan the QR codes or by dialing (386)626-2179 for an audio presentation. Maps for a walking tour are available at the MainStreet DeLand office and at the Museum of Art – DeLand, Florida.”
